The compatible cartridges listed are supplied without the microchip required to enable your cartridge to print. Therefore the chip from the Original Canon ink cartridge must be kept and transferred; however this process is extremely simple. By carefully lifting the original chip from its anchors, you then slide the chip into your new compatible cartridge and within minutes you have a fully working canon compatible for your printer, at least a third of the cost!
